Abstract

A simple 2D simulation of a heat seeking missile is produced under the assumption the missile will always head directly towards its target.  The results of this simulation are compared to the mathematical model presented by Raine et all in the paper ‘Large Heat Seeking Missiles’.  This comparison is then used to speculate on the causes of the large difference in performance between old and modern missiles.
