A3 3 Power Radiated from Merging Galaxies due to Gravitational Waves

Abstract

In this paper we calculate the power radiated due to gravitational waves during the merger of the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies. We find that the total power radiated is due to the collision of the super-massive black holes in the centres of the galaxies and is equal to 4.97×1059W.
