Abstract

This paper investigated, in a simplified manner, the theoretical upper bounds of human size by
considering the human body’s heat generation and dissipation capabilities as it is scaled up in
height. We calculated the largest theoretical human to be an astounding 12.97 m tall with a mass of 31 tonnes. This size is many times larger than the tallest humans on record as it does not take into account the other limiting factors of our biology such as bone density and cardiovascular function.
