Abstract

The Mariana Trench and Mount Everest are homes to the highest natural changes of atmospheric pressure. These pressure changes affect how long it takes for water to boil. We investigated how long it would take us to make 3 cups of tea at these different pressures. We found that it takes 31s to boil water on Mount Everest and 398s down in the Mariana Trench.
