Abstract

This paper considers the motion of a watermelon as it is dropped from the roof of a building, bouncing off a trampoline below onto the roof of a car, and calculates the watermelon to impact the car’s roof with a velocity of 12.4 metres per second at an angle of 20 degrees to the vertical.
