A5_4 Hanging with Aang: Flying like the Last Airbender
Abstract
In this paper we devise a model describing flight as depicted using gliders in Avatar: The Last Airbender. This allowed us to find the windspeeds needed to sustain level flight over a range of possible human masses. We found that for the show’s protagonist, Aang, a windspeed of 15.11 ms−1 , was needed, and an average human would require windspeeds of 18.90 ms−1 .Downloads
