Abstract

Observational results of the integrated broad line flux, FL, against ionising continuum flux, FC, in AGN often show a tendency for FL to plateau at significantly high values of FC. We present a quantitative theory to explain this behaviour as evidence for the existence of a Broad Line Region in Active Galactic Nuclei.
