About the Journal

Human Figurations: the Journal of Social Processes is an interdisciplinary open-access, peer-reviewed journal focused on understanding long-term social processes. We are inspired by the work of Norbert Elias, widely regarded as one of the most important sociologists of the twentieth century. Elias’s approach is radically processual, relational and synthetic; it comprises a model of sociology as a unifying discipline, bridging cognate disciplinary domains — particularly history, psychology, anthropology, sociology and the social sciences more generally — into a unified analytical scheme.

The journal is supported by the School of Criminology, Sociology and Social Policy, University of Leicester and the Norbert Elias Foundation.
