Evaluating Football Tactics- Pulling a Defender

Abstract

This paper studies whether pulling a defender is an effective tactic in a game of football. Data has been analysed from the last full Premier League season, leading to several discussion points and overall conclusions. This work concludes that the tactic is effective and that implementing it in the 61st -70th minute is the most advantageous.
