The idea for this postgraduate journal stemmed from the success of an annual conference organised and hosted by PhD students in the Department of Media and Communication since 2012. This conference, 'New Directions in Media Research', inspired us to further engage with and document debates and ideas presented at the event leading to the first issue of for(e)dialogue: the conference proceedings for 'New Directions in Media Research 2015'.
In the coming months and years we hope to continue developing this journal with further publications in the form of conference proceedings as well as special issues focusing on particular areas of study in the field of Media and Communication.
We also hope to extend and build on the opportunities for postgraduate students (both at University of Leicester and other institutions) to gain experience in the publishing process through editing and reviewing positions.
